Kemê pellicer
Kemê (She/Her/Kemê) is a neurodivergent multidisciplinary artist, poet and parent based in Helsinki who works with photography, performance, illustration, installation and text. While her curiosity leads her to work with concepts such as memory, representation, symbols and rites, Her process embraces the complexity of our construction and the constructions we inhabit, seeing art as a tool closer to the magic realm able to move through the spiritual and the subconscious. In recent years, Kemê has worked through her project "Villi Akka", using the power of tales, myths and archetypes to challenge the negative images given historically by the binary opposition system and to foster community. The project, heavily based on text and workshops, is intertwined with embroidery, illustration, photography and other visual mediums. As she endeavours to become a better ancestor through antiracist and intersectional feminist processes, Kemê strives to contribute the same way to good practices in the arts and culture sector, where she has operated as a facilitator, educator, mediator and coordinator since 2014. Kemê is also a co-curator of the #STOPHATREDNOW festival and a "Diversity Agent".
