Ilana Palmgren
Ilana Palmgren is a Finnish performing artist and actor (FIA) working with theater, performance art, movement and text. Palmgren has a master’s degree in theater and drama. She studied in Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatoire, Russia returning to Finland immediately due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in the spring of 2022 completing her degree based in Helsinki and at the The University of the Arts Helsinki Theatre Academy, graduating in the summer of 2022. In her work she is interested in combining and exploring the metamorphosis and intersections of psychophysical and classical acting training and experimental performance art. In her work, sensations, darkness, hidden layers as well as humor and greatness in smallness is often present. Palmgren's artistic goal is to dismantle rigid structures in the field of performing arts and create democratic, feminist and breathing art and ways of working. Since graduation she has worked as a freelancer and in her latest performance Les Bonnes Bonnes, she also worked with direction, scriptwriting, choreography and dramaturgy.
