Tomasz Szrama
Tomasz Szrama graduated in 1998 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland. He has practiced Action Art since 1995, and contributed actively to the development of the Finnish Performance Art. For the last 20 years he has been regularly performing locally and internationally in numerous events and festivals in 26 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America, including venues such as the Museum Reina Sofia in Madrid, Göteborgs Konsthall, Scandinavia House in New York, Bangkok Art Centre, Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, Helsinki Kunsthalle, Kunsthalle Seinäjoki etc. Further, over the past 17 years, he has been an active performance art event organiser. He has curated and co-curated over 50 live art events such as the series of events Art Contact, New Art Contact and Tonight, as well as the festivals Fake Finn Festival of Experimental Live Art, Uprooted Festival and co-curated with John Court the State of Move Festival. In 2008-2016 he worked as a producer, designer, technical manager and was responsible for organising live art events at HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme. Over the past few years he has been giving performance courses in art schools and universities (i.e UNIARTS, SAMK, Art School MAA).
