Anastasia Anikina
I'm a Helsinki based artist of Russian-Jewish origin. I live and work in Helsinki since 2015. In 2021 I graduated from an Art School MAA as a contemporary artist. My background studies include architecture and environmental design. My current work place is Urban-Nature Center in Lapinlahti art quarter. Once a week I'm teaching an art course for 4-10 years old kids The course is held on several languages and free of charge. In my works, I strive to create unrealistic worlds, inhabited by mystical creatures and plants. I emphasize with the effect of pareidolia, an ability to see a familiar objects and faces in random patterns and shapes. I'm fascinated by natural patterns and forms. And I'm deeply concerned about fragility of our planet's ecosystem. That's why I'm constantly developing my work practices to become more and more ecological. For example I use recycled materials, but my latest proud is self-made Scooby skin, which became part of the work "Back to the Future".
