BOOST YOUR FUTURE: Career networking event

Uniarts #TalentBoost together with Globe Art Point and the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) are organising a career networking event on 14th of November from 13:00 to 18:00. The aim of the event is to boost career competencies and employability of international students & aspirants who want to work professionally in the creative industry.

This event, organised in Taike’s premises, brings together jobseekers, employer exhibitors and leading institutions from the art and culture industry and in a relaxed environment enables them to get to know each other and exchange contacts. The programme will also include workshops and networking opportunities for all participants, free of change. The language of the event is English. 

The event targets Uniarts students & foreign-born artists and culture professionals who want to make Finland their permanent home, however, it is open to ALL job seekers interested in working in the creative industry. 

Visitors attending the career networking event are encouraged to talk to the exhibiting unions & associations and inquire about their memberships/services. Furthermore, representatives of unions, e.g., Musician’s Union, Taku or the Artists’ Association of Finland will be providing career counselling on a location. Bring your burning questions along!

In addition, some of the exhibitors will be promoting open jobs and open calls at the event. We would like to encourage you to also bring your resumes, portfolios or business cards for sharing and networking purposes.

The Finnish Musicians’ Union is a trade organization for professional musicians.
Trade union for art and culture professionals (TAKU) is a professional organization for those working and studying in the fields of art and culture. TAKU is an expert organization in the special questions of working life affecting its field.
The University of the Arts Student Union (ArtSU) is the community and interest and service organisation for students at Uniarts Helsinki. 
The Artists’ Association of Finland is an advocate and expert association representing over 3000 professional artists in Finland. It promotes the status and working conditions of visual artists and strengthen the role of visual arts in society.
The Association of Finnish Symphony Orchestras (Suosio) promotes and develops Finland’s symphony and chamber orchestras, and safeguards their interests and rights.
Globe Art Point is an NGO advocating cultural equity, diversity and inclusion in the arts and cultural sector in Finland.

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) is a national funding, expert and service agency for promoting the arts. Taike together with its arts councils and boards awards grants to professional artists and subsidies to communities in the field of the arts. Annually, Taike allocates 40 million euros as grants and subsidies.

The University of the Arts Helsinki provides the highest level of education in music, fine arts, theatre and dance. We were established in 2013, when the Academy of Fine Arts, Sibelius Academy and Theatre Academy were merged.
