Artist statement
Scarlet is a queer artist and entrepreneur, originally from Manchester, UK. She is an internationally selling painter and is now an award winning tattoo artist and owner of BluePunk Tattoo; a studio created to provide a comfortable and accessible space for women, neurodivergent and LGBTQA+ clients. Her vibrant watercolour paintings have evolved from static works on canvas, to art pieces full of movement, which enhance and integrate with the human body. Colours and elements of nature are combined with skin, providing a feeling of closeness to the natural world that so many of us crave.
Scarlet’s mission is for tattoo artists to be accepted and valued in the world of visual arts as much as any other discipline. The tattoo industry requires modernisation when it comes to providing knowledge to the next generation and Scarlet is particularly interested in developing this area through connections in the visual art world.
