Carla du Ré started her artistic path while learning the flute, singing in youth choirs and taking drama classes, before starting to work on her voice. After her first projects and musical experiences, concurrently to her university studies in Literature, Arts and Cultural Management, she discovered the world of traditional music and started to travel, to learn more about some musical and vocal traditions, and be part of several ephemeral Ethno orchestras. This way, she made herself a music répertoire mixing Swedish, Brazilian, Bulgarian or Occitan songs, fell in love with polyphonic singing and met musicians from different backgrounds. She then started to compose her own songs, based on vocal loops or piano playing. Between french songwriting “chanson”, to traditional collections of the Globe, she collaborated with several other musicians as Axelle Poulet (France), Esther Aleida (Netherlands), Javier Navarro Lara (Chile) or Genevieve Andressen (USA), but also with artists from different fields, like the fine arts in a youth-audience show with the Compagny Un Confetti sur la Branche,or the theater and shadow puppetry with Camille Gibily. She is now dedicated to her own compositions project, which will play for the first time in Helsinki for Spring 2025.
