ILMU (“air”, “weather”) is a folk-trip-hop band from Karelia Republic, Russia. Now the band lives in Tampere, Finland. ILMU plays folk-trip-hop and world music with original lyrics in Livvi-Karelian language. Magically beautiful northern nature of Karelia became an inspiration for the songs. Musicians use traditional instruments such as kantele, jouhikko, woodwinds and others (electric guitar, violin, etc.). Band mixes the sound of these instruments with an electronic base and with vocals in Livvi-Karelian language.
