NETWORKING EVENT FOR GAP CREATIVES DATABASE IN TURKU
Last year, Globe Art Point received an interesting proposal from our community asking us to organise some of the networking meetings for members of the Creatives Database in a new location, outside of the Uusimaa region.
Based on this feedback, we created a short survey asking our Creatives to select a city where they would prefer this networking event to take place. The most voted City of Tampere was visited last December. For our upcoming visit, Globe Art Point is headed to Turku!
Globe Art Point is super excited about this trip since there are many of our members based in the Turku area who joined the association during the Covid times and who we only know virtually so please do come and say hello to us, it will be cool to catch up!
NB. Usually our networking events for Creatives Database are closed to the public, but this time, we would like to encourage everyone interested in Globe Art Point to come and meet us! It will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know us, learn about the Creatives Database and what it offers to its members.

Titanik is a contemporary art space run by Arte ry. The gallery, located on the banks of the Aurajoki River in Turku, was founded in 1988 and has since then been presenting topical Finnish and international contemporary art.
Titanik focuses on new, experimental and unconventional contemporary art that is in dialogue with the surrounding society. The gallery creates a space for unexpected encounters, artistic interchange and critical discussion. In addition to exhibitions, Titanik hosts a variety of open public and project-based events, such as music shows and performances. In addition to the activities in the gallery, Titanik regularly organises various offsite events in Turku’s urban space and surrounding areas.
Titanik’s programme is selected by a board of members of the association. An open call for applications is held once a year. The space is free of charge for artists.
In 2023 Titanik and Arte are supported by: Arts Promotion Centre Finland, City of Turku, Svenska kulturfonden, Föreningen Konstsamfundet, Kone Foundation, and the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
The Saari Residence, maintained by Kone Foundation, is a residence located in Mynämäki, Southwest Finland, for artists of all disciplines and nationalities. At the Saari Residence, artists and researchers can focus on their work in a peaceful rural environment and share their thoughts and experiences with colleagues. The residence’s long-term activities and thinking are underpinned by an ecological approach, which also covers social and psychological sustainability. Its keywords are slowness, insight and change.

Regional Dance Centre of Western Finland (LTA) is one of the six regional dance centers. Since its inception, the main goals of the regional center have been the development of the industry, the regional and social promotion of the availability and accessibility of dance, and the improvement of the employment of dance artists.
The development work is based on a thorough knowledge of the special features of dance art, and it aims to promote multidisciplinary and high-quality cooperation and expertise in society. The Western Dance Regional Center operates in Varsinais Suomi and Satakunta, supported by the cities of Turku and Pori and the Art Promotion Center.
The office of the Läntinen tansse regional center is located in Turku at Itäinen Rantakatu 64b, C-talo, in the historical milieu of Manila. In addition, our Studio practice hall serves the area’s dance artists and communities as well as other users in Manilla, next door to our office.
