Globe Art Point (G.A.P) is introducing a new event concept connecting foreign-born artists with art spaces and art associations based in Helsinki and the metropolitan area. The idea is to meet in an unusual setting and present our members and actors from the Finnish arts and culture scene to our community and allow them to network.

The kick-off event will be held on Wednesday, 23rd of February at 5-7pm in the Myymälä2 gallery. Presenting their associations will be our new member Arcaica ry and our old established member Helsinki International Artists’ Association (HIAA).

During the event, we will learn about what these associations do, what are they programmes and activities for artists and cultural professionals and furthermore how can one become their member or take advantage of their services.

This is a free event organised by Globe Art Point for foreign-born and Finnish artists and cultural workers who would like to network and meet like-minded people. The language of the event is English. Registration is not necessary but EU CORONA certificate needs to be presented upon arrival.

Globe Art Point joined the Discrimination-Free-Campaign in June 2020 and the association hereby declares itself a discrimination-free zone. Read Globe Art Point’s Code of Ethic here.

Helsinki International Artists’ Association was founded in 2008 by Susan Wilander as a registered artists’ association as an inclusive association for residents of Finland. It has grown into a successful association with over 50 members, all artists who live or work in Helsinki but hail from all around the world. With their diverse backgrounds, cultures and beliefs, artists from HIAA work together to create a place where artists can meet, talk and create.

HIAA organizes a variety of activities throughout the year, ranging from workshops to exhibitions and participating in festivals as well as supporting its member’s solo exhibitions and events.

The board is dedicated to displaying our international member’s work to the public and creating a community that supports and expands the international culture in Finland.
