Don Villaluz is a Filipino self-taught artist, painter, muralist, a professional photographer/videographer and video editor, a graphic designer, digital artist, a creative specialist and a dreamer, who always dreams of peace, unity and freedom in its truest sense.
The fusion of Oriental, Western and Arab cultures in contemporary design is a dominant theme in his creative works. (Often mixed media, sometimes with oil but most of the time with acrylic while playing with different textures and techniques.)
He draws his inspiration from the scenes around him, personal experiences, and social reality, working with digital media from his own original photographs and drawings, with a reflection into past representationalism, trying to make subtle comment on current culture.
He embraces new technology, new ways of creating images and art, as fellow artists have done long before him. That is why artistically, he refuses to remain stagnant but evolve continuously through experimenting various old and new techniques to develop and update his art style.
After his more than 20 years of living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as an artist despite of the cultural differences, he still managed to join groups exhibition and various contests there. Winning consistently in local and international photo contest, having his images published in both online and printed magazines and coffee table books and had exhibited his paintings, digital art and photographs in various galleries there and abroad since year 2003 until now, He have been exposed to a number of aspects of the Art and Photography world.
Today, he is trying to adapt into the climate and environment in his new found home in Helsinki, Finland, with eagerness to learn its Arts and Culture and eventually merge to and recognize by the local Arts scene.
