Marloes van Son develops and builds sound-objects, electronic instruments and installations. She uses these as tools to explore everyday appliances and natural phenomena. By repurposing ordinary subjects and objects she aims to create unusual, yet familiar experiences. She is fascinated by interactions between humans and technology and is currently obsessed with interface design.
During performances Marloes plays her self-built instruments in experimental compositions with graphic scores, layered vocals, occasional beats and field recordings. Using her self built instruments she creates layered atmospheric soundscapes with a pop twist.
