THE KONE FOUNDATION GRANT WRITING WORKSHOP, 2.9. 2020
Have you been working on an exciting project but you are not entirely sure how to execute it? Do you have great ideas but you are struggling to navigate through the complex system of grant applications which are ultimately preventing you from sending them in? Or have you previously attempted to apply for funding but somehow ended up lost in translation?
The Kone Foundation Grant Writing Workshop is a first in a series of workshops targeted at foreign-born arts and cultural professionals residing in Finland. The workshops, free of charge, are organised by Globe Art Point in collaboration with various funding bodies that award grants to artists and cultural workers to carry out their independent academic research and projects. G.A.P’s aim is to bring together cultural workers with a strong experience in grant writing and budgeting who can share their expertise and tips on how to effectively strategise, communicate and develop art oriented projects with their colleagues and peers.
The Kone Foundation Grant Writing Workshop is a three hour long event led by the executive producer, lecturer and a cultural manager in the field of dance Isabel González and the performing arts professional and CEO of Arts Management Helsinki Outi Järvinen. Applicants are invited to enrol for the workshop no later than August 24th (23:59, EEST). The enrolment form will also allow the applicants to submit their project related questions that will be anonymously discussed during the workshop. However, please note that only a handful of the submitted questions will be chosen for discussion. The chosen questions selected by the workshop leaders will be carefully picked in order to benefit the majority of attendees.
Program: The two hour long presentations (45’+15’ & 45’+15’) will be followed by a two part Q&A session that will last approximately one hour. The first part of the session will focus on the questions submitted via the online enrolment system. The second part will be an open discussion during which the participants will be given the opportunity to ask further questions related either to the workshop or their own projects.
