This is a lecture on how to promote and pitch your own production or artwork, your own company or organisation for potential foreign partners such as festivals, production platforms, residencies, theatres, or future artistic soulmates.

This lecture is aimed at the performing arts professionals, however, the knowledge translates to other fields as well so anyone is welcomed to attend this workshop.

The programme:

  • A very short introduction of each participant.
  • Discussion on what the participants (single practitioners or groups) expect from the lecture.
  • What is a pitch and what additional information should be prepared?
  • Emotion vs. factual information. What information should be presented and what not?
  • The structure of a pitch – how to fit a pitch into, for example 5 minutes? What to highlight and why? Preparation of manuscript, dramaturgical approach.

The lecturer is Hyde Hytti, theatre producer, performance dramaturge, former festival director (co-founder of the international Baltic Circle theatre network and festival).

The event is organised by Globe Art Point in cooperation with TINFO – Theatre Info Finland.
