G.A.P Goes Galleries is an event concept designed to connect professional creatives with art spaces, cultural organisations, and art institutions. This event directly addresses the expressed needs of our members and community, who have indicated a lack of connections and opportunities to meet and form collaborations.
G.A.P Goes Galleries provides a low-threshold platform for casual information exchange, fostering connections and collaborations within the art and culture community in both the metropolitan area and beyond. Organised by Globe Art Point (G.A.P), this inclusive event caters to art and culture professionals interested in exploring various art spaces, discovering exhibition opportunities, networking, and meeting like-minded individuals.
The events are conducted in English, ensuring accessibility to a diverse audience. No registration is required; this event is open to the public, and everyone is welcomed to attend.
For our April event we are visiting Galleria Huuto. Galleria Huuto is a space for art maintained by artists. Huuto’s current location in Kalasatama is a former banana ripening factory, covering approximately 450 m2. In the premises are: four gallery spaces (Huuto I, Huuto II, Huuto III and Huuto IV); a lobby space; a living room for visitors and partners; six studios for member artists.
The gallery spaces are presenting the works of four artists during this period: Katarina Guthwert, Elisa Sakko, Joakim Pusenius and Tiina Majabacka. We will have the opportunity to speak with the gallery staff about the organisation and its current projects. How the space operates and selects its exhibiting artists, with the possibility of meeting an exhibiting artist during our visit. This is the opportunity to visit a well established exhibition space and artist-led gallery and studio space. To understand the opportunities available within the Helsinki exhibition scene.
