G.A.P Goes Cinema is a morphed event based on the concept of G.A.P Goes Galleries. It was born out of necessity to connect foreign-born and local creatives with art spaces and art associations based in the metropolitan area and beyond. The idea is to meet in an unusual setting and present G.A.P’s community and its members to actors from the Finnish arts and culture scene and allow them to network.

During this event, Globe Art Point will be visiting the Cultural Centre Caisa to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Chilean refugees arriving in Finland. The exhibition has been organised by Globe Art Point’s board member, Cinematographer and Visual Artist Cristian Medel in collaboration with a Group of Chileans and Finns CHILE 50.

18:00 – 19:30 Film screening – Finnish premiere of “El Efecto Ladrillo” (Breaking the Brick)
19:30 – 21:00 Screening is followed by a panel discussion organised in collaboration with Globe Art Point

About the movie Breaking the Brick
In 2019 millions of Chileans rose up to challenge the economic theories imposed during the dictatorship. Mariana is one of the victims of the model, Ramiro one of the beneficiaries. In an unforgettable year, both will undergo an unexpected transformation.
