Grants application support group (Visual and Media artists) with Martta Tuomaala
Welcome to our support group focused on grants application in media and visual arts.
In this group, led by Martta Tuomaala we will work intensively together on improving the preparation of our projects to the incoming grants applications.
This activity will have a duration of 3 sessions in which we will be focused on the strategy of writing, budget and personal feedback inside the group based on our written application/text and support materials.
IMPORTANT: This activity is divided into 3 sessions which are important to complete. The number of assistants is limited. If you can not commit to attending all the sessions we kindly asked you not to enrol so another artist can take the place.
You will need to bring your application project and budget (drafts).
A maximum number of participants: 15 people.

Martta Tuomaala (1983, Lieto) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Helsinki. She gained a Master’s degree in Fine Art from Aalto University in 2014. Tuomaala focuses on various forms of film, video and installation. Tuomaala’s artistic practice involves also elements of socially engaged art and militant research.
Tuomaala participates actively in various art workers’ activities and events concerning art politics. She is currently a board member in the Union of Finnish Art Associations, AV-Arkki (the Distribution Centre for Finnish Media Art), and Leftist Artists’ and Writers’ Association Kiila. She has worked as a guest lecturer in several art schools and concentrates specifically in art production and grant applications in her teaching.
